The concept of Deepfake has a rather indefinite scope, therefore the first protocol frames a reference of associated words presented by search engines in eight countries with different political, religious, and private standards. Titles and subtitles were taken from the first eight articles on Google in the United States, Argentina, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Germany, the Netherlands, and Baidu for China.
Main Findings
The most common words used to discuss Deepfake are: Deep, Digital, Technology, Create, Make, Real, Fake, Porn, Video. These words transcend a country’s individual culture and present a general scope for the phenomenon.
United States and Russia, although culturally very different, share the second largest amount of words between two countries, after Germany and the Netherlands.
For all countries it could be argued that words used have a concerned tone of voice, examples of these words are Weapon, Horror, Bans, Revenge, Terrifying, and Concerned.
China stands out with words that address techniques and technologies such as: Applications, Tutorials, Fakeapp, Pythorch, Decryption, and Self-encoder.
Argentina isolates itself with results related to cinema and celebrities such as: Cinema, Hollywood, Jack Nicholson, Will Smith and Jim Carrey.
In the Netherlands, Italy, Argentina, the USA and Russia Porn is being mentioned but it does not appear in the countries: China, Saudi Arabia and Germany.
