What kind of Deepfakes does the most commonly visited platform for videos, YouTube, present to its visitor? What source content is used for the creation of these videos and whom are its protagonists replaced with? The top original Deepfake search results were analysed, and their substitutes were categorised by profession.
Main Findings
For the editing of content, actors and comedians proved most popular, Keanu Reeves, and Jim Carrey appeared most frequently.
In contradiction to the first protocol, which demonstrates that the word politicians is used frequently in the analysed articles by multiple countries, politicians appeared rather little.
Most source content originates from the entertainment industry, such as Movies, TV shows, and TV series, accompanied by informative clips tackling science subjects, and political clips tackling political news.
There is a substantial amount of fictional characters used to replace characters in Deepfake videos on YouTube.
