Description
The network in this chapter shows the co-hashtag of the gender equality query inside of the “gender” dataset explored with the Twitter capture analysis tool (TCAT). The co-hashtag graph performs a co-word analysis of the hashtags. If two hashtags appear in the same tweet they are linked. The more often they appear together, the thicker the width of the line that links them.
Protocol
Starting from the Twitter capture analysis tool (TCAT) we used a specific function called “co-hashtag graph”. Inside the “gender” dataset we inserted the query “gender equality” and set the time range from 10/1/16 to 10/2/2016, which was the last month available for our dataset. From there we obtained a network of hashtags related to the query “gender equality” and their connections with each other.

The Twitter capture analysis tool (TCAT) gave us a list of hashtags related to “gender equality” and their ‘word frequency’ meaning the frequency of each hashtag in our dataset in the specified time range. This data, represented in the co-hashtags graph, identifies the related hashtags to our query.
