Now Data centers meet a variety of online needs of people living, working and entertainment. With the exponential expansion of the volume of data produced by human activities, as the physical carrier for data processing, exchange and storage, data center has become an increasingly important part of IT sectors. According to the graph above, it is clear that global data traffic is in continuous growing. Besides, the global data centers consumed 416 billion kilowatt-hours in 2016. It’s about 3% of the world's electricity supply (according to the Independent.co.uk), which means if all the data centres were a country, they would rank in the 11th globally in national energy consumption.
