Description
The timeline shows the progress from 1950 to 2016 of the plan to land on Mars. The projects are organized by date, country, typologies (proposal, studies and vision) and by kind of organizations (private or governmental).
Protocol
Before beginning our project, we found it important to show how much mankind has been interested in moving to Mars during the time. For that, we decided to search in Wikipedia the page "Human mission to Mars". From this page, we have extracted the history of projects to land on Mars from 1950 to 2016 and then classified it by typologies. This help us understand how much the proposals grew up over the years; if at the beginning the only countries intrigued were USA and Russia, now there are an increasing interest of other nations like Europa. Moreover, there is an arrival of private agencies such as SpaceX.
