Introduction
The debate is not articulated in the division between different polarizations but in the different motivations brought to support the thesis that it is wrong to do surveillance.
The debate is not articulated in the division between different polarizations but in the different motivations brought to support the thesis that it is wrong to do surveillance.
On the x-axis there are the statements used by against-speakers to motivate their position, on the y axis the number of page that speak of the statements. Under each statement is read the breakdown of speakers, reading facilitated by the possibility to illuminate the individual speaker in each column to see his position.
A dataset in Excel has been created (from the total corpus) with one column - the against polarization - and ten lines - the statements derived from the contents tag and from reading all the pages. Using the data collected and an automatic generator of histograms (Pages) a basic graphic was created which from was then built the curve by hand using Illustrator. For the visualization of the speakers an additional dataset was created to highlight the percentage of each speaker for statement.
The visualization shows what the statement most widely used to combat the surveillance is. The most debated issues are also divided among a larger number of speakers, in different proportions: each category has more to heart a specific topic.
