Description
Through counting words comparing the abstract of books about defectors we can see how the general tendency of the tone is a list of sad and strong words repeated several times both in the case of english written publications and China. The two most important feeling are fear and sadness in both analysis. That is related to the content about detention, torture and repression written by Defectors their self and not only. Story about Defectors are often memories trying to give an insight into life under one of the world’s most ruthless and secretive dictatorships.
Protocol
We manually collected all the abstracts of the books about defectors, we used Voyant Tools extracting the frequency of the most quoted terms. Finally, we used Tone Analyzer to see what is the general sentiment of the words most quoted and we collect per each word the tone indicated from the tool. We considered the word quoted at least 5 times.
